Bishop Dr. Tom E. Diamond

Bishop Dr. Tom E. Diamond is the son of the late Mr. James Diamond & Mrs. Emma Jo Bryant, born in the small town of Perry, Florida.  At a very early age, the family moved to Lake Wales, Florida where Bishop Diamond attended elementary & high school.  Upon graduation from Roosevelt Senior High School in 1961, he attended & graduated from Florida Memorial College with a degree in English.  He received his Masters of Divinity Degree from Colgate Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, New York.  After he received his masters, Bishop Diamond went to Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia where he received his Doctorate of Ministry Degree.

In 1975, Bishop Diamond started his first pastorate experience at St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church in Gifford, Florida.  He later pastured at Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Daytona, Florida before accepting his current pastorate of Abyssinia Baptist Church in 1984.

Bishop Diamond is the former president of the Florida General Baptist Congress of General Education.  He presently is the teacher of the Ministers Division of the National Congress of Christian Education, where he teaches preachers on the subject of church growth through Sunday School.  He is a proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., NAACP, & The Baptist Minister's Alliance.  Bishop Diamond has published several books including, "Book of Sermons-Not Much Just Crumbs", "Sermons from the Heart of the Diamond Mind", and "From Boys To Men", just to name a few.

Bishop Tom Diamond is married to our First Lady Lois B. Diamond.  He is the father of Roderick & Dr. Eugene W. Diamond.  He is an excellent husband, father, & happy grandfather of eight wonderful grandchildren.
